Is 2.9 X 2 Cm Parapelvic Cyst In Kidney A Cause For Concern?
Hi would a 2.9 x 2 cm parapelvic cyst in mid pole of right kidney cause concern. A single separation is present. There is also a non shadowing calcification. I have noted a constant dull pain in right hand side of back where kidney would be located.
Hi, frankly speaking the single cyst in the kidney is not considered harmful until and unless, there are complications such as bleeding inside or infection. Multiple cysts or degeneration of kidney tissue by cyst transformation is a problem. In your case, it is single cyst with one septation and nothing else has been associated with the cyst. Cyst is usually formed on account of obstruction. I would rather suggest you to get the kidney function tests done and if it is normal, then there is no cause of concern. If you suddenly feel increased pain in back, then consult a urologist.
