Irregular Periods, Breast Swollen, Tender, Sore To Touch. Worried

I have been having irregular periods for the last few months and breast tenderness for the last 2-3 weeks. My breasts seem to be swollen somewhat and are sore to the touch and for a few days, one breast was sore on the side. Right now, my breasts seems to be okay. Is this something to worry about when it seems to be transient?

Hi,
In the current scenario, you should get an examination by a specialist to look for hormonal imbalances as the cause of the irregular periods and the breast tenderness as well. You should get a complete hormonal profile, sonogram preferably trans-vaginal, breast exam and urinalysis. Meanwhile use a good breast support and use analgesics for pain relief. Breast tenderness is most often caused by excess hormones which cause water logging. Diuretics can sometimes help. Hope you find this information helpful. Take care.
