I am 50 told the nurse after almost 18 mos of not having a cycle that I had one the week of my 50th birthday,, she said it could be my last hoorah.. went to the Dr. told her also. I was still having pain on left side lower.. they always said it scar tissue.. and also said 2 mos before went to the Er.. for chest pains.. heart was fine.. no concern from her.. she said how about a ultra sound.. it showed thick lining of uterus.. I go this wed.. at 10am. of not cancer what alse could it be.. Never been on hormones , not obese. mother of 8 breastfed. all of them.. just a normal mom.. I thought.
The thickened lining of the endometrium could be due to various reasons, out of which menopause could be one of them.
But there do exist medical conditions (eg. Endometriosis, endometrial hyperplasia, etc.) that could also be the cause for this, and which you are more predisposed to at your age. For this reason, further investigation will be mandatory.
