Irregular Bowels. Diarrhea And Abnormal Stools. Worried

Hi,
Since last Friday ive had bowel movement issues. At first i thought it was food posioning since i have a fever on Friday night but after the fever was gone I still have not had a "regular" bowel movement. On saturday, sunday and monday i had diarrhea and Tuesday it started to turn solid but it was gray and abnormal looking. Then today, its more brownish but still irregular and ive noticed that the bowel movement was stringy today. Any idea what this can be? Im starting to get concerned...thanks

Hello, thanks for contacting HCM with your question.
The problem seems to be an acute one since the duration
is very recent and short. It is possible to have a viral or
bacterial infection that could come on suddenly may be
after a cold like symptoms. It could also be related to foods
either contaminated or some thing your body did not like.
Usually the diarrhea lasts 24-72 hours and gets better on its
own in most cases. Some may need antibiotics for a short time.
Stay on a bland diet , avoid fatty , greasy , spicy or fried foods
for a few days.
If the symptoms persist or get worse , you need blood and stool
tests before treatment.
