Intravaginal Ultrasound Shows Anteverted Uterus, Thick Endometrium, Endometrial Polyp Cystic Follicle. What Does It Mean?
After my intravaginal ultrasound the impression was: Normal Sized (for 47 age) Anteverted Uterus w/ Thickened Endometrium. Intracavitary Lesion, Suggestive of an Endometrial Polyp.Cystic Follicle, left ovary.Right ovary(small for age)Normal Cervix w/ Nabothian Cysts. SUGGEST:SISH on day 9-12 to evaliuate the endometrium. Whats' the meaning Doc
Your report suggests that
1.Endometrial cavity is thickened with lesion within the cavity. It may be due to polyp. It is better confirmed by SISH(Saline infusion sonohysterography). It is simple technique in which small amount of saline is injected inside the uterus and vaginal sonography is done. It gives more clear picture inside the endometrial cavity and is done on 9-12th day of menstruation.
2.Other findings are within normal limit.
