Intense Throbbing In Bladder, Blood On Passing Urine. Culture Showed Presence Of WBC. Have MS And History Of Frequent UTI's. What Does This Indicate?

I ve had a long history of UTI s & I have MS. Wednesday night my bladder started to spasm & throb, thursday I used the bathroom & when I finished I noted a considerable amount of blood on the tissue! I wiped serveral times & it continued to show less & less blood but blood none the less! Since then, I had a culture that showed minimal white cells & did not culture out! I am having more pain, my ureathra feels like I have a broom handle there & I m sick as a dog! Trying not to throw up my lunch!! I also catherize & have been through this before where I would have 2 of 3 cultures done before an infection would show! I am now very limited on antibiotics! Someone please suggest something here, I m at a loss!!!

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have repeated episodes of UTI and have hematuria since very recently

This is most likely to be due to Cystitis .

Repeat your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefotaxime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.and later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Ensure to drink more water. To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
