Intense pain on walking, shooting pains while sitting post landing on the heel during a fall. What should be done?

I fell off of a lamp post and landed hard on just my right heel at first. This was two weeks ago and I can t walk without intense pain and it sometimes shoots pain while im sitting with no pressure on it. What might have I done to it? would seeing my doctor be worth the trip or will he just tell me to try to stay off of it?

Thanks for writing to us.
It seems that you have fractured your calcaneum. An X-ray of the area will help in detecting any bony injury in the area. I encourage you to consult your orthopedician for proper investigations so that treatment can be initiated early.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
