Inguinal Hernia, Sensation Of Bruise, Stomach Lump, Shrinking In Size. Treatment?

I think I have an inguinal hernia . It came up Tuesday morning and it felt like a bruise but I had a lump about 3 inches long and 1-2 inches wide. There was no bruise though. It has gone down since Tuesday but I can still feel a lump, a lot smaller now with a little bruising feeling. Do they usually go down like that?

Hi,
Inguinal hernia is usually palpable when your abdominal pressure increases like when you cough , lift heavy objects or strain. It is possible for you to not notice it or to feel it small when your abdominal pressures are normal. There are chances of it getting strangulated . Consult a surgeon .
Regards.
