Infant With Fever, Cough, Watery Eyes, Sneezing, Vaccination Due, On Ibuprofen And Tylenol
My 20 month old has had a fever 38.9 c for past 48 hours. Its lowered a little with Ibuprofen and Tylenol around the clock and tepid baths, but goes back up within a few hours.He s sneezing and very stuffed up, very tired and seems to have a headache. He s eyes are watery and coughs, at times until he vomits. He s not really eating but drinking ok. His temp seem to come first. At what point should we bring him to the MD? He has not had his flu shot, and I know we have had an early flu season in my region.

Thanks for the query to HCM.
It seems that this 20 months old child has allergy with super added infection as all these symptoms are indication of allergy.
In such type of cases I usually prescribe Monteleukast+bambuteol suspension and levofloxacin suspension once in day ( dose is 15 mg/kg ) .
Monteleukast + levoceterizine is also effective but in twice in day.
You can also add some appetizer for appetite .
Avoid pollen , hay , dust ,mite sudden rise and fall of temperature as all these are predisposing factor for such type of allergy.
Steam inhalation also help.
