Infant Not Passing Stools For Two Days, On Bonnisan. Is This Normal?

hello dr,

my son is 15 days old baby...he has not pooped for the past 2 days...previously he used to poop three to four times a day....I was advised to give bonnisan for gas problem because his tummy was filled with gas...as advised by paediatrician...after giving bonnisan his gas was relieved but he didnt poop...please give me a suggestion regarding this

Hi,

It is normal for your to pass stool at interval of 2-3 days, unless he is exclusively breast fed. Formula fed babies usually pass stool daily. There is no need to worry if baby is not crying or irritable. upto 6 months he should be strictly breast fed and make sure he is not dehydrated.
