Infant Having Popping Sound Through Her Back And Chest, Floating Ribs ? What It Is?

my daughter is 6 weeks old we took her to the E.R because she had a popping sound threw her back and chest felt like popcorn is popping in her belly and back they said it is floating ribs ? I have never heard of that and if it is then why didn t she have it when we took her home from the hospital the day she was born ? can ANYONE help me !? they also gave her an X-ray and said everything was good but what is popping ribs ?? HELP??!!

When the child is asymptomatic,and simply ribs are found floating,it may be due to immaturity of the bones and in due course of time it may not be seen further.Meanwhile vitamins and minerals including calcium may be given.
