Infant Having Epicanthal Folds And Flat Nasal Bridge. Do These Folds Go Away And When Will The Nasal Bridge Form?

My 19 m.o has epicanthal folds and flat nasal bridge but no other physical signs of DS . Do those folds ever go away and when will her nasal bridge form? P.S I have epicanthal folds also but very small folds. My daughters folds are very prominent. No d.S. in family.

Hi,
Thanks and welcome to HCM.
Even though the physical signs if Downs syndrome are present, the diagnosis should be confirmed by Chromsomal study.
only epicanthal folds and depressed bride of the nose does not give the diagnosis of Downs syndrome.
Still if you have a doubt better consult a pediatrician.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose.
