Infant. Loose Motion. History Of Taking DPT Vaccination And Rota Virus Oral Drop. Prescribed Zifi And Rinifol Syrup. Advice

Hi Doctor, my 4 months OLD daughter is having loose motions..the quantity of the motion is small but the frequency is high - 8-9 times yesterday. I give her one bottle of formula milk every day (just to keep her on habit as i will be starting work again). She is active and doesnt seem to have any pain in stomach. His doctor has advised Zifi 50 & Rinifol Syrup. Hope these medicines will help her to recover fast and will not have any side effect at her age. Just to inform you, she had given DPT vaccination & Rota virus oral drop 2-3 days back.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
It seems the child is having diarrhea mostly due to a virus.
Continue the medication as advised by the pediatrician.
The medication is safe and usually no side effects are there.
Exclusive breast feeding till the age of 6 months is the best method of feeding.
If you are working, you can express the breast milk and that can be given to the baby in your absence.
You should take hygienic measures while preparing, handling, and feeding the formula milk.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
