Infant. Cold, Cough. Advised Nebulizing With Duolin, Another Doctor Advised Asthalin. Which Is Better?
Hello Dr. My son of age 90 days. he is suffering from cold and cough, cold is reduced, but cough is still suffering him. My Dr, adviced me to give him Nebulization three imes a day. He adviced Duolin. and another Dr. is adviced Asthalin. I'm confussed which one has to give him? Please can you sugest me what is the different between above two drugs and which one is better for my son.
Salbutamol and ipratropium bromide both are bronchodilators (they relax airway muscles) and help in reducing cough, plus ipratropium bromide also helps in reducing rinorrhea that is will be helpful in cold.
In my clinic if patients come with such complaints i would like to go for duolin as it contains two different drugs which can work in synergism to give fruitful effects, plus this preparation will help to reduce secretions in airway because of ipratropium bromide.
Regards.
