Infant. Bruise On Lower Back On Spine. Not Sensitive, No Fever, No Change In Size. Anything Concerning?

Our 3 mo old appears to have a bruise on the lower back right above the buttocks, on the spine area. It's approximatly the size of a dime. We are unaware of anything that would have caused such an injury. She has no fever, the spot is not changing in size, and she does not seem to be overly sensetive to the touch on it. Can you give any suggestions to what this may be? Should we be overly concerned? She is not crying and is acting normal. Should we just moniter the spot and assume this is a random bruise, or could this be something more serious that we need urgent care for?

spontaneous bruises are either due to low platelet count or cogulation disorder

have you history of any blood disorder in family?

does she have small petechiae or bleeding from any other site?

i advise you to consult your doctor for complete physical examination

she will need investigations like complete blood count and coagulation profile

Pediatrician Dr. Emmette Clark's  Response
I would certainly show it to her doctor next visit but I can assure you, almost without reservation, that this is simply a Mongolian spot, which is just a purplish discoloration around the lower spine, sacral area, and buttocks. These are present in most children born to parents of Black and Asian descent and absolutely nothing to worry about, even in Caucasian children.
