Indentation In Outer Right Thigh, Moving Towards The Front. Is It Something Serious ?

I have an indentation in my outer right thigh. I noticed it about a year ago and it has grown from the side of my thigh, moving towards the front. There is no pain in this area, and initially I thought it coudl be cellulite , but it does appear that there may be some muscle deterioration. I am worried that this could be something serious.
