Increased Heartbeat, Dizziness, Blurred Vision, Nausea, Loud Ringing Noise. Is This A Panic Attack?

The other day I was sitting outside and I felt my heart start to beat really fast so I came in and sat down for about a minute. I got up and started getting ready to take a shower and about two minutes later my heart was still beating fast and my face started to get hot and I got dizzy, this happens to me a lot so I was just waiting for it to go away but it didn t. My ears started ringing and it just got louder and louder almost blocking my hearing. My eyesight got very blurry and everything got very bright. My stomach felt a little nauseated but it was nothing compared to that extremely loud ringing noise. My boyfriend had to hold me up because I felt very unsteady but standing up also made it worse. I felt like I would faint because the louder the ringing got my eyesight started to fade away. I was very clammy. I couldn t even stand up long enough to get water from the faucet. I ve had little attacks like this before but they never got this serious or lasted this long. I felt like I was going to pass out or even die. I don t reAlly want to go to a doctor because I get really frustrated when they tell me nothing s wrong and I know that s not the case. About three minutes into the attack my boyfriend got a bag of frozen French fries and put it on my face and I just layer back and closed my eyes and everything slowly subsided and my heart beat started to slow down. I finally got in the shower and when the bathroom started to get steamy and got I started feeling my heart pound hard and fast again and everything started to come back. I jumped out and my boyfriend got the fries again and I got better. After that I had to shower in cold water. I googled and seen something about panick attacks but I don t know. Please help me.

Hi!
Welcome to HCM!
If no abnormality was detected in cardiovascular system so possibility of a panic attack can be there.
A panic attack is a response of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS). Symptoms of panic attack usually begin abruptly and include rapid heartbeat, chest sensations, shortness of breath, dizziness, tingling, and severe anxiousness. The most common symptoms may include trembling, dyspnea (shortness of breath), heart palpitations, chest pain , sweating, nausea, dizziness and sensations of choking or smothering. This results in increased anxiety, and forms a positive feedback loop.
Often, the onset of shortness of breath and chest pain are the predominant symptoms; the sufferer incorrectly appraises this as a sign or symptom of a heart attack. However, since chest pain and shortness of breath are indeed hallmark symptoms of cardiovascular illnesses, attributing these pains to simple anxiety is a diagnosis of exclusion (other conditions must be ruled out first) until an electrocardiogram says that no heart problem is there..
While panic disorder can certainly be serious, it is not immediately organ-threatening.
A variety of treatments are available, including several effective medications, and specific forms of psychotherapy.
People who experience panic attacks can use a number of lifestyle changes like aerobic exercise, avoiding alcohol, caffeine, as well as stress-management techniques to help decrease anxiety.
hope this helps.take care!
