Immunization For Infant. Is There A Painless Alternative?
Hi, we were blessed with baby girl ~3.5 months back. We followed the normal course of immunization, however the earlier two dose of DPT was given by routine product available. Now we have learned that there are "Pain Less" injections also available.
My Query - We are getting two difference versions from pediatricians. One of them say's, if the earlier injection were normal then we cannot give the painless one now. Another one say's there is no problem in continuing with the painless and it will not effect in outcomes of immunization.
We needed some advice from the group of consultant’s available on this portal in helping us taking the final decision on this matter.

Hi,
I would agree on the fact that you can switch to painless vaccine any time you wish .Since you have given 2 earlier vaccine of Whole kind this time you could give the acellular one .
The ultimate target of the appropriate antibody level will be achieved after completing the schedule including the booster doses.The only difference between the vaccine is that the painless one has less side effects than the regular one .Both the vaccine have same effectivity.
