I have a friend who gets disability allowance , he needs a walking stick to get around. He eventually was offered a plastic joint , a simple operation but he was scared to death of having an operation so refused the offer. He still gets his disability payments, but how would the dla ever know he had refused the operation? The only way they would find out is if they did an assessment every so often by checking with his doctor, then depending upon the doctors report they would decide if they continue his payment.
