If HCG Levels Keep Going Up Drastically Without A Miscarriage, Is It Early Pregnancy ?
If a womans hcg levels keep going up drastically in a short time and there is no physical signs of miscarriage is it possible the dr did not consider that the pregnancy was to early when the ultrasound showed an empty gestational sac. levels more than doubled after ultrasound and sac measured 8 cm but it is possible i was only 4 weeks.
At 4 weeks of gestation, an empty sac is expected. Sometimes even the sac is not seen and only thick endometrium may be visible in early pregnancy. If HCG is rising, it indicates that the pregnancy is live.
Physical sign of miscarriage may be absent in a missed abortion [baby is not live inside the uterus but it is still inside and not causing any external bleeding].
I suggest that you get a repeat scan after 2 weeks to see if the baby is growing. If it is alive, the scan will show a sac bigger by 2 weeks than the previous scan and if you are lucky, may show the babies heart beat too.
