IS It Normal To Have Painful Red Area On The Tongue After A Tonsillectomy?

my daughter had a tonsillectomy 5 days ago. She has whiteness on her tongue as expected, but in has a huge painful dark red area in the center of her tongue now. Is this normal? Has not been given any antibiotics-cold this be a reaction from all the motrin and tylenol?

HI
Well come to HCM
This could be due to injury by the surgical instrument that might have been used during the operative procedure and this would come around such little injury may the part of procedure and this is nothing to worry, hope this information helps.
