Hi yesterday I accidently pricked my hand from a 17year old boy glucose pen needle that he left on his bed. I am his nanny and I was making it he left it on the bed. His mom whose a radiologist assured me that he was vaccinated for hepatitis c and doesn't have Hiv will i be ok.

Large , multi-institutional studies have indicated that the risk of HIV transmission following skin puncture from a needle ( as in your case ) or a sharp object that was CONTAMINATED with the blood from a person with DOCUMENTED HIV infection is less than 0.3% and after a mucous membrane it is 0.09%. It means even if person ( whose needle ) is HIV infected there is rarest possibility of HIV infection by needle prick to other but in your case the mother of child assured ( she is radiologist and a responsible doctor ) you that his son vaccinated for Hepatitis C and don't have HIV .
