IBS, Highly Lactose Intolerant, Diverticulitis, Polyps, Asthma, Painful Stomach. Had Colonoscopy. Worry?
I have IBS. I was recently diagnoised as being highly lactose intolerant. Just had a colonoscopy which came back showing some diverticulitis, and 3 polyps removed. Dr. said changing to lactose free products would help. Lactaid milk and Lactaid chewable pills before I eat. I also have asthma. Is there anything in Lactaid milk or pills that would make my asthma worse? Also how can he be so sure its lactose intolerance and not a milk allergy. I took the lactose blood test. Would that have show a milk allergy instead of lactose intolerance? I want my stomach to stop hurting and i really want to take the lactaid but i worry about my asthma and don't want it flaring up. He also told me to start taking a probotic ALIGN.
