I Need Help With My BP 180/130. How To Get My BP Down ?

I just got sent home from work due to a BP reading of 180 over 130. The school nurse took my bp reading on both arms twice. I have no insurance and I work part time so no Work coverage nor sick time. I need to find a way to control this without Medication. Can someone give me some real way to get my bp down.

Do not get panic. Get your blood pressure frequently, may be daily if possible. Confirm the reading with consecutive readings. But if your blood pressures in high this extent all the time you have to go to a doctor, irrespective of anything. Try to cut your salt intake, avoid high fat foods, all the junk foods, do stress relief measures like yoga, medication etc.do not worry but be watch full.

The range of BP mentioned by you calls for proper investigation. Are your parents also hypertensive . restrict salt , fast food and spicy meals.

That reading was from just yesterday and was the same in June of 2010... I don't have away to read it daily... But I will try to keep a consistant readings atleast once or twice a week... I have cut out salt and I only cook with Olive oil... no real fried foods... I rarely do fast foods, like only 1 or twice in a six week period, and I do meditate atleast once or twice a week... From what I know High Blood pressure runs in my family... I just don't know what to do to really make it go down... Is it better to do more a a vegan diet??? I try to cut down the red meat... and do fish atleast 2-3 times a week... Is there any real advice that's not found in a brochure...? Not to be mean but I have been trying to deal with this and if I get my coworker (school nurse) to take it I wil be sent home all the time which doesn't help my income nor my ability to be able to afford medical help... So I am in between a catch 22...

Thank you for your help...:)
