I Just Had My Periods, After That We Had Sex, And Started To Lightly Bleed Again. Feeling Nauseous. Pregnant?

Hi
My period ended 2 weeks ago and my husband and I had sex at the weekend, the next day I had light, bright red bleeding which lasted one evening and then came again even lighter the next day. I checked my diary and I should have been ovulating that weekend. Now I'm feeling nauseous on and off....could I be pregnant and be feeling the symptoms or is it likely to be something else?

Hi! Thank you for your question! There are many factors to consider, the most important of which is the regularity of your period. The only way to be sure would be to do a pregnancy test - this checks the level of B-HCG, a hormone that sharply increases during the early weeks of pregnancy. You can purchase the test in any local drugstore and just be sure to follow the instructions. The bleeding may just have been due to the intercourse, a minor blood vessel may have been slightly damaged, which is nothing to worry about. If this is your first attempt to pregnancy, please do see an obstetrician who will recommend and prescribe the necessary vitamins and supplements (like folate) that will help ensure a healthy pregnancy. I wish you luck! Please do not hesitate to contact me. Take care!

hello,

Unprotected sex around ovulation time has high risk of being pregnant. Here, you need to wait for upcoming period. It is to early for pregnancy test.

You undergo one home pregnancy test immediately after missed period and blood test for beta-hCG after 7 days to confirm the same.

You can consult with gynecologist after test reports. Maintain genital hygiene properly. Good luck.
