PLEASE HELP! doctor needed. please i need to have some answers. blocked artery?!? about a weeek ago my aunt got into a head on collision suffering from contusions , broken rib, fractured hand. ever since the acident she has had a headache . today i got word that she is being flown into a hospital. im not sure what happened, but i think i heard that she had a stroke and/or a blocked carotid artery. i m not sure how much is blocking the artery, but its enough for her to be flown into brighams and womens. i m only 15. please someone help...i;m home right now waiting for someone to call me with information on her and how she is doing... this is all i know. will they neeed to do surgery? what are the risks? dangers? this is extremely serious, and i m not sure if she is going to make it. please help as soon as you can. thank you so much. alos, she is only 39 and is healthy and excersises. i think she has a thiroid problem too. i dont know if that has any part in this. thank you. i think she has a shattered cartoid artery. thank you all for your information. i m not sure if it has to do with her heart , i think its more of in her head. anyways, if anyone has any more information, please share it with me. thank you all so very much. just heard from my father. my aunt is doing much much better. they are not doing any surgery becuase it is still risky. they are going to wait tonight. they said that because she is improving, there is no need for surgery. she s talking, with some trouble. but hey, thats better than nothing. shes moving as well, and is alert. for now, my worry is eased. all of these answers provided me with great insight, and thank you for that. many of you eased my anxiousness and worryness. thank you for your prayers and help, it is all greatly, greatly, appreciated. thank you so so much..
