Moderate Episodes Of Shingles Post Herpatic Neuropathy, Constant Numbness And Tingling In Feet, On Tegratol. Alternatives ?

I have post herpatic neuropathy since having a moderate episolde of shingles in March. The virus seems to have gone into my sciatic nerve and i have constant numbness, tingling and pain all down my leg and into my foot. It isvery painful and prevents me from exercising or walking or standing without a great deal of pain. Iwas tried on gabapentin but that did not help at all. Now I have a script for Tegratol. I am really tired of just trying one unseccessful treatent after another with no relief. I go to a job every day and the neurologist told lme this morning that she doesnt' know how I can even stand on it let alone walk. Already I don't have much hope for this new drug.

DEAR SIR/MADAM

POST HERPATIC NEURALGIA IS USALLY TREATED BY THE DRUGS WHICH YOU HAVE ALREADY MENTIONED. COMMONLY THE FIRST DRUG IS
1. CARBAMAZEPINE 100 MG TWO TIMES A DAY.
2. GABAPENTIN OR PREGABLIN 75 MG AT NIGHT TIMES CAN BE GIVEN

SINCE AS YOU HAVE TOLD THESE DRUGS ARE NOT WORKING FOR YOU, THE NEXT LINE OF TREATMENT IS
TRICYCLIC ANTIDEPRESSANTS SUCH AS DULOXETINE OR AMITRYPTYLLINE CAN BE GIVEN AT NIGHT TIMES, BUT THE EFFECT IS NOT TOO MUCH AS EXPECTED.

ALL THE BEST
THANKS
