I Have One Lymph Node Near My Waist. Is Any Surgery Required ?

Hi, I have one not-so-painful lymph node near my waist (right side of my back) and two more without pain. i also have one on my right thigh which again is not paining. Is any surgery required ?

Dear laxming,
As per you stated the site, it mightnot be lymph node. Do you have similar node on abdomen, hands and thigh. It might be lipoma .Its the fat deposition under the skin. to make confromation FNA is advised. If it is lipoma. no need to do any further. Otherwise you can do exicision biopsy for the final conformation.

They don't sound like lymph nodes - based on the sites you have mentioned. You need to get yourself examined by a physician - he'll refer you to a surgeon only if it is essential. E.g. if it is a lipoma or fat-containing swelling you may not be operated on unless you ask for it for cosmetic purposes.
