I Have Hypo-thyroidism. Will I Be Required To Take Medicine During Pregnancy Period?

hello I had a tubal ligation 4 years ago. I'm 3 weeks pregnant. This is my 6th child and will be my sixth C-section. Do you know of any excellent obstetricians' in the Dallas, Plano Texas area. I also have hypo-thyroidism which I was born with, will I be required to take medicine while pregnant? As I don't want any chemicals in my body while I'm pregnant with this child.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

You have hypothyroidism and now you are pregnant. You should take medicine to control your hypothyroidism. Because hypothyroidism can leads to developmental disorder in your baby so you have to take medicine. Drugs like eltroxin or synthroid are useful. Go for T3, T4 and TSH level and start treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer.
