Hello, I m a 21 year-old female. A couple of days ago, I noticed a small bump in my areola , next to my right nipple. It is small, smaller than the nipple itself. It s reddish, thick, peeling a bit and itchy. It doesn t hurt, nor leak any fluid. My nipple looks fine, just a little dry (but the other looks the same). I never had any breast problem and I go regularly to the gynecologist (last time was around half an year ago), but never made any actual exams, like a mammography . An aunt of mine had breast cancer at her forties (she survived 5 years, but ultimately died with stomach cancer ). I worry a not... Do I have a reason to worry? Should I contact my doctor soon? Thanks for the help!
its seems to be infective cyst. 90 percent of breast masses are benign.
is it painful?
if its infective then you may need antibiotics.
but you should consult a doctor and get evaluated.
Hi,thanks for query. There are plenty glands around areola. At times when it gets blocked due to some infection or something this gets enlarged and you got a bump like this. Please talk help from your doctor and see whether you need antibiotic for this or not.bye.
