Maintain a healthy weight for your height. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean meats, (grilled chicken, lean cuts of beef, turkey, etc) watch your sodium (salt) intake by avoiding processed foods, and not adding salt to your meals. Be sure to get lots of cardiovascular exercise (30-60 minutes 3-7x/week). But remember sometimes high cholesterol
and blood pressure are hereditary and medication may be necessary even after following a healthy lifestyle.
