I have a dull ache like cramp in my Vastus Medialis. I got it after doing lunges at the gym. Its an ache from the inside of my knee to mid thigh

thanks for choosing health care majic.While doing exercise the muscle fibers get stretched.When ever it is done wrongly or more intensely it leads to over stretching and swelling of its fibers and pain.so take care while you do exercise.apply some local analgesic over it and some time you can try cold ice application also.Take rest avoid undue exertion it will be fine.

most probably you have sustained some soft tissue injury during exercises
ligamental attachments may have been sprained muscle and tendons may have been overstretched
cold packs will help take some pain killers
give rest to the part
if pain increasing or persisting better consult orthopaedic surgeon
hoping early recovery
