I had a liver function test which showed high bilirubin but no jaundice.

hi i recently had a liver function test, the results showed increased level of bilirubin (3.4 md/dl then 2.4 mg/dl). my liver enzymes (AST and ALT) were very normal. my blood test was normal as well. i have no jaundice at all. i feel very fine but am a bit concerned about the bilirubin levels.

my bilirubin total is 1.4 mg/dl and bilirubin direct is 0.8 mg/dl . is it jaundice. wht type of treatment do i have to take

Hi.. Jaundice is a clinical sign, a sign where there is yellowish discoloration of the skin and mucosa.. This sign may not be noticed clearly in a dark person, if the light source is not good, and in presence of anaemia too. It is also has subjective variation such as what appears like a jaundice to me, may not be to you.. Considering all this possibilities, I feel I have answered your query.. You may repeat the test again to confirm this but..  Consult a doctor for the advice.. You can also chat with one of the doctors available in this website for assistance too...
