welcome to health care magic

1) Clean wound with warm soap and water. Anti-bacterial soap is preferable. It is important to clean as best as possible even if it hurts.

2) Apply antibiotic ointment or Betadine solution.
3) Watch for signs of infection.

Swelling after the trauma is due to haematoma formation which is due to accumulation of blood, this will subside over a days put a ice over the area. secondly cat scratch may leads to cat scartch disease which is caused by coxiella burnetti, consult your doctor for further evaluation and treatment.
Take care
