Pediatrician Dr. Sumitra Kumar Mukherjee's  Response
The pain which you are getting in your knee is probably due to a condition called osteomalacia whch is due to Vit.D defficiency. The bone does not get proper calcification. Even with treatment it takes long time for the pain to settle. You need to take calcium as well.Your Doctor can prescribe calcium tablets also you can drink plainty of milk for calcium. For the pain you can take paracetamol as required.

Neurologist Dr. Johannes Peperkamp's  Response
burning knee pain can be because of nerve damage(neuropathy due to diabetes or alcohol abusus. It is seldom due to arthritis(inflammation of joints),peripheral artery disease( vit D3 is irrelevant).
Mostly pain due to socalled iliotibial band syndrome(lateral knee pain in runners due to friction over the lateral femoral epicondyle)or inflammation of bursae(fluid cushions).
Lastly this pain can be present due to referred pain in low back pathology(L4-5 or L5-S1 level.
With serious continuation of pain you need NMR Knee or back for diagnosis.take antiinflammatory medication

Hi,
This question is answered by many.
To my opinion, thorough investigation will definitely satisfy you.
That will reveal the likely cause of your symptoms.
It may be neuropathy, vit.d deficiency or anything else.
Do some exercise related to knee and regular walking will definitely give relief from your symptoms.
Wish you good health.
