hi i am a thalassemia carrier and my partner has it full blown, what would this mean if we had a baby?

This means that your baby also has a chance of getting the carrier trait or the full blown one. But you need to know what type of thalassemia you are having, alpha or beta, both you and your wife. i would suggest you to consult a doctor who has specialised in Genetics or even a pediatrician.
