Hurt On The Right Arm. Swelling In Wrist Bone, Bruised. Worried?
I got ran into a metal electrical box at my apartments by my dogs while walking them because they think squirrel is a great snack. Anyways I did something i knew better then i braced myself and tried to slow the impact of the hit by extending my right arm and when it hit it hurt almost instantly. i had swelling about an inch from my wrist bone and couldnt move my last two fingers without even more pain. This all happened last night, today the swelling is down and the pain is also down and just slightly swollen and slightly bruised. I just want to know what may be wrong.
If you are able to move the fingers actively then there is unlikely possibility of a fracture.
It could be only a soft tissue injury which generally subsides over a period of time spontaneously without any issues.
Follow these guidelines -
* Protection to the area in the form of splint or brace and avoiding movements * ice packing to alleviate the pain * elastic compression bandage to reduce the swelling * Keep you hand in elevation * use analgesic antiinflammatory medicines as necessary
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
