Hurt Foot A Year Back. No Fracture. Still Pains. Bulging On Inner Side. Reason?
Last year I hurt my foot on a concrete step. I heard a popping sound. My foot swelled terribly and turned black and blue. I went to hospital they sent me home on crutches. The doctor said there was no fracture now a year later I still have pain and my foot appears to be dislocated as there is a bulge on the inner side of my left foot in the center of it. Do you think I might need surgery?

hi.. thanks for using HCM.. you could be having calcaneal spur, which is causing plantar fascitis.. it can be diagnosed with X ray of the foot.. wear comfortable and soft soled slippers/shoes, do foot exercises and gice hot fomentation to the foot.. take some analgesics and analgesic gel to apply on it.. see your orthopedician if it does not help.. all the very best..
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM. Persistent pain in a previously injured area definitely warrants evaluation. I personally feel that you could have injured the ligaments. The only way to diagnose these ligament injuries is by MRI scan of the injured area. Consult an orthopedic surgeon for his opinion and he will decide whether surgery is indicated or not. Hope this helps
