Hurt foot. Riced it. No swelling or bruising. What is it?

I am 20 years old. I play Rugby and about 2 weekends ago I hurt my foot and if I can remember correctly, I believe a girl fell on my foot. The night of the injury I was unable to put any weight on it. It hurt for about 3 days. I RICEd it and it was feeling better not 100% but the pain was tolerable. Then when I started practicing on it again it started bothering me to put weight on the left side of my foot. There is no/was no swelling or bruising but when I touch a certain spot it hurts, and I am walking with a slight limp? what can it be?

General Surgeon 's  Response

Thank you for the query.

As your symptoms are present for 2 weeks now, bone fracture is possible. Also tendons may be injured or even broken off. Even if there were no swelling, redness it does not rule out mentioned conditions.
That is why I suggest you to visit your doctor. Simple foot X-ray should be done what will tell if there are any fractures or not. You should also have orthopedist consult and have this foot examined. In case of more serious injuries, splint will be necessary. Some traumas do need surgeries so I suggest you to do not neglect your symptoms.

Hope this will help.
