How Will Novalox And Meftal Forte Tablets Function In Overcoming The Pus Filled Boil On The Cheek ?

i have got a boil on my cheek . its paining. doctor suggested to take novalox and meftal forte tablets for 3 days.what is the function of each tablet. does it cure in 3 days or it is necessary to incise and drain puss

Novaclox is a combination of antibiotics; amoxycillin and cloxacillin. Helps in treating the bacterial infection/abscess/boil/pus collection. Meftal forte is a combination of paracetamol and mefenamic acid(analgesic and anti inflammatory).Helps by reducing pain and inflammation. About whether it will getter in 3 days , it is a little diificult to say. It depends on the size of the boil. If it is really big, it will require incision and drainage. However ,even that will be best if done under antibiotic cover. So , if it is not that bad, I would suggest wait and watch policy.Most antibiotics start their action by 48hours. So even after 2 days if there is no improvement, visit your doctor once again . In the meantime try keeping your face clean with antibacterial face wash. If it is a small - medium sized boil, hot fomentation should help. Have a great day .
