How To Treat Upper Left Shoulder Pain?

I have upper left shoulder pain for about a month now. Although it is subsiding, and I believe caused from tennis serving and smashing, how long does it take to heal..I haven t been to the Dr. yet and wonder if it is tendon or rotator cup problem...Currently I am resting it as much as possible and putting warm pad on area at night for 1/2 hour or so....that helps...periodically taking Ibiprophin as well.

Hello
It isn't likely for this to be a partial tear of a rotator cuff tendon.
More likely it's bursitis and that usually resolves with rest.
It might otherwise be impingement syndrome.
It would be a good idea to have a doctor take a look and x-rays wouldn't be helpful. You might need an MRI of the shoulder to see exactly what's wrong
