In diabetics, medication starts with lower doses and when the dose are set to control the diabetes, they are continued. with time when sugar levels are not under control with present medication, either dose should be increased or add new drugs, the final option will be insulin. Long term usage of anti-diabetic drugs doesn t cause harm to kidneys. Insulin is very effective in controlling sugar levels. you don t put on weight with insulin.
