How To Treat The White Spots On The Tonsils And The Related Pain?

I have been told I have a vital infection. It started with awful headache, loss of energy and lasted for over a week. I saw a GP who said it seemed to be on its way out and I could go back to work, today is day 18 and I now have had a sore throat and earache for 3 days. The throat has white spots on the tonsils and it is very painful to swallow and very sore even if I'm not swallowing. Is there still nothing that can be done?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from Follicular tonsillitis and the white spots seems to be pus pockets secondary to bacterial infection..
Pain in ear can be radiating pain from throat while it can also be due to ear infection secondary to throat infection..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and throat swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
You can be advised to take antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..
Chew Vitamin C pellet as it helps in boosting immunity..
Suck throat lozenges as it help in soothing the throat and relieve pain..
Sip on plenty of water..
Avoid hard, chilled and spicy foods..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
