Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I would keep a possibility of folliculitis/furuncle, which is due to bacterial infection of the hair folliicle.

If I was the treating doctor I would have advised you to take an oral antibiotic from the penicillin group OR cephalosporin group of antibiotic for a week(e.g Amoxycillin Or Cefadroxil for a week).

A topical antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin ointment once daily would also help.

An OTC pain killer e.g ibuprofen once or twice daily would help symptomatically.

regards
