How To Treat Tailbone Injury?

my 78yo grandmother fell and badly injured her tailbone, she is having difficulty walking. SHe has seen the MD for the fall, nothing broken. What can I do for her that would significantly help?? She also broke her radial bone in the same fall, with needed ORIF. Thus has hydrocodone for pain.

for tail bone pain - sacral bone pain

1. use water/air bag while sitting on chair for 6 weeks

2. t. ultracet(tramadol)


for distal radius fracture

1. if displaced and reducible and stable - just cast
2. if displaced and reducible but unstable - kwire fixation
3. displaced and irreducible - ORIF

based on age of patient she is having osteoporosis
she needs operative fixation
