How To Treat Swollen Glands In Front Of Ears A Week After Cold With No Fever?

I woke up this a.m. after a week of a cold with swollen glands in front of my right ear, in my face. It hurts to open my mouth. I do not have a fever. Sinus are not stopped up. With the cost of dr. visit, if it will go away in a day, I do not want to go. I had c.diff in past so do not want to take antibiotics unless I have to.

Hi, thank you for asking healthcare magic
Common cold can lead to swollen lymph nodes around the neck. This infection is often caused by viruses and so antibiotics are not necessary except when there are complications. You may take drugs like cold tablets and acetaminophen to control the symptoms. The swollen lymph nodes will disappears ones your body clears off the infection. I do not think you need antibiotics for now.

I hope that answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. We will be delighted to answer more questions from you.
