Hi..
Thanks for the query..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms you should not take tow tablets of
aleve after 8 hours rather take only one.
As you are having
dental abscess there is pus formation below the root tips of tooth and it is the cause of swelling and Aleve can reduce swelling and pain to some extent only as until the pus will be drained off complete relief will not be achieved.
You should continue taking
Amoxicillin and Aleve every 8 hourly but you need to get the tooth treated for permanent relief..
I would like to suggest you out of the way from your question that consult your
dentist or an ENDODONTIST and get an
x ray done.
If the tooth can be saved
root canal treatment has to be done in which the dentist will create an opening in the tooth so that the pus will be drained out and swelling and pain will gradually subside.
In progressive sittings cleaning of tooth and root canal followed by filling with inert material is done..
If tooth is extensively decayed extraction is indicated.
As of now continue taking amoxicillin and aleve every 8 hourly and do ice packs but get the tooth treated soon for faster and permanent relief..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
