My uvula is swollen and it hurts very bad, it is very red as well. What could this be? I'm not allergic to anything. I have had allergies lately. How can I get this to stop. I've gargled With warm salt water throughout the day, but doesn't seem to be helping, this is day 4 and I can't take it anymore, help!

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
Uvula gets swollen when there is ulcer on it, even small ulcer could cause it to become edematous and there is pain while swallowing.
Secondly there can be a viral infection in the throat .
You need to consult an ENT specialist for examination and to rule out the causes.
till then take a mutivitamin and continue gargles . If you do not have fever then the viral infection will go in few days.
And if ulcer is present will start healing even with a single dose of multivitamin.
In doubt do reply.
