How To Treat Stomach Upset And Diarrhea Caused Due To Food Poisoning?

Ive had an upset stomach and diarrhea since the beginning of August after I ate something that gave me food poisoning. Runny stool and foul smelling gas. it feels like a viral or living cause, because there s been little change in the severity over time no matter what Ive taken to ease occasional debilitating (not acute but dull aching) cramp .I saw a doctor and my bloodworm is all normal.what should i do ? Thanks

Thanks for consulting me at HCM. I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns according to latest medical practice guidelines.

Probability:-
You need proper antibiotic course for the tummy flu that is bacterial infections and is commonly called Gastroenteritis.

Medication guidelines:-
Pantoprazole+Levosulpiride before meals by mouth.
Rifaximin if not allergic to.
Buscopan for relief of cramps.
If you feel more frequency of stools, ask your physician to add Imodium for that.
Pedialyte Oral Rehydration Solution for revitalizing and to restore the fluid and electrolyte balance.
Take Citrucel dietary fiber supplement with plenty of water for better outcome and keep it in routine diet.

If after 2 weeks you feel that nothing is working anymore for you, ask your primary care physician to refer you to a gastroenterologist for assessment who will go for some diagnostics like Colonoscopy and if needed gastroscopy too. May be there is some other cause of your illness then.
