How To Treat Sleeping Disorder?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query Ive never had sleeping issues... but for the past few nights it's taking me hours to fall asleep, and ill wake up rather early... a lot earlier than i need to (this morning it was 4:45 am) and have trouble going back to sleep (i didnt fall back asleep until 6:30-7). I'm not sure whats going on, but it's getting rather frustrating. I'm used to laying down and being asleep within 20 minutes or sohere...

Hi,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.

I can understand your frustration.

Sleep problems (Insomnia)are of two types:
Primary in which no physical or psychological disturbance and treatment can be done with drugs from benzodiazepiens group like lorazepam, clonazepam, and zolpidem.
Secondary in which sleep disturbance due to some physical and/or psychological problems and treatment for underlying problem is needed.

Early awakening is a symptom depression however it doesn't mean that you have depression. But you should go to doctor if your problem is persistent and/or worsening.Sleeps is necessary function of body and it required for giving rest to mind and body. Its deficiency causes many health hazards.

Before you go to doctor, you can try following measures for good sleep which may help you a lot, as it has shown good response in my many patients.

Exercises like walk or slow run. At least 45 minutes exercise per day.
Do not use your bad for any other activity except sleep.
Take a shower before going to bad.
A warm cup of milk before 15 minutes going to bad will help you a lot.
Do not sleep in daytime.

Hope I have answered your query
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki
